"La Habana" Sweatshirt

"La Habana" Sweatshirt

$69.00Price

This design is inspired by 4 months I spent living in Havana when I was 20. I still think about this time a lot and the memories of it always seem to make their way into my art like a reoccurring dream. I can so clearly remember the smell of jasmine and diesel and throwing rocks at mango trees to get some fruit for breakfast. I remember wrought iron tangled in lush vines and chicken bones in the sand at the beach. Sometimes I wish that where I live now was a little more like that. I really miss being around people who talk with their hands.

I feel disgusted at what our government is doing to this beautiful and special place. Words cant describe the hatred it makes me feel and also the deep sadness.

I’m donating 25% of sales from these sweatshirts to an organization to help people in Cuba. I had one picked out but I couldn’t see any solid info about how they are helping so I’m on the lookout for a different one and will update this when I find one.

These sweatshirts are soft and plushy, super comfy, and have dropped shoulders/ an oversized fit. You don’t have to be Cuban to wear one, just have to appreciate the aesthetic.

Sending love and blessings to you all,

Isabel
